Learning to Play No-Peeking
Introduction:
No-Peeking, also known as 4 card golf, is a fun memory game which can be learned with very little
effort. The objective of the game is to get the lowest score before
someone "Knocks."
Brief Game Play:
Evver's No-Peeking game guides you through the rules and flow of the
game, so you can easily begin playing. The basic principle is to
replace high valued cards with low valued cards, remembering which
cards have been placed and their corresponding values. When you
believe you have the lowest score, you "Knock", but be careful, as an
opponent may "Knock" while you still hold several higher valued cards.
Detailed Game Play:
When No-Peeking begins, each player is dealt 4 cards in a 2 x 2 square.
You begin the game by revealing two cards your first turn, then drawing
a single card from either the deck or discard piles and placing it on
any of the four card positions. A card drawn from the deck pile may be
discarded, while a card drawn from the discard pile must be played. The game progresses as each player draws a single card from either deck and replaces another card or discards.
At the end of each turn, a player may choose to continue or "Knock".
When a player knocks, every other player is given one last turn before
the end of the round. Be
careful to remember what cards have been revealed and placed, as you
will not get the opportunity to view them later. You may also want to
note what cards your opponents have played, as this will give you a
better idea of how close they are to "Knocking".
Scoring:
No-Peeking is scored by summing the face value of each card. The
player with the lowest score at the end of each round has won that
round, and the player with the lowest overall score from all the rounds
played has won the game.
